About Our Team

Felix (Phil) Castellano earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Clark University in 1991 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University in 1996. Following an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, he accepted a position as Assistant Professor at Bowling Green State University in 1998. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2004, to Professor in 2006, and was appointed Director of the Center for Photochemical Sciences in 2011. In 2013, he moved his research program to North Carolina State University where he is currently the Goodnight Innovation Distinguished Chair. He was appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in 2015 and earned the I-APS Award in Photochemistry in 2019. His current research focuses on metal-organic chromophore photophysics and energy transfer, photochemical upconversion phenomena, solar fuels photocatalysis, energy transduction at semiconductor/molecular interfaces, photoredox catalysis, and excited state electron transfer processes. He enjoys most outdoor activities, particularly golfing and hiking, and is a fan of select collegiate and professional sports teams located in North Carolina and New York.

Luigi Longobardi, Executive Editor

Luigi is a physicist by training, an editor at heart, and can bake an amazing loaf of sourdough bread. Before joining AIP Publishing, Luigi spent six years at the American Physical Society where he was the Assistant Editorial Director and where he worked on Physical Review B and Physical Review X and launched Physical Review Fluids and Physical Review Materials. Luigi received a Ph.D. in physics from Stony Brook University and was subsequently a Marie Curie Researcher in Napoli and then a Research Associate at Dartmouth College.

Amanda Sulicz - Associate Editor

Meticulous care and patience are key attributes of a good associate editor, and Amanda Sulicz is an example of both. In addition to overseeing the management of CPR, she is responsible for the diligent care of two very active Guinea Pigs, creatively named after U.S. Presidents with fashionable facial hair. She also enjoys swimming and playing water polo.

Amanda joins AIP Publishing from the University of Texas in San Antonio where she was a Postdoctoral Researcher for the past two years. Prior to that she was a Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University where she received her PhD in Chemistry in 2017.
